Chapala: One
Day One of a month-long residency I'm undertaking at 360 Xochi Quetzal in Chapala, Mexico. Each day the project will be added to and at the end of the residency each of the tracks will be re-worked into one long-form sound art work.
Part One: Church bells in Chapala, pitch shifted with digital (ping pong) delay and vocoder. In my excitement at having landed on the other side of the world overnight I didn't test the levels of my recorder... so the distortion on the bells has become a feature, amplified by the vocoder (which I really like on metal and percussion instruments) and enhanced further with the stereo delay.
